Lesson Elf ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered lesson planning tool for English language teachers, created and operated by Fiona Sloane, a British TEFL professional with over ten years of English language teaching experience and over five years of teacher training experience. References to "Lesson Elf" throughout these terms refer to this service and its operator.

By accessing or using Lesson Elf — including creating an account, generating a lesson, or using any feature of the platform — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Lesson Elf. By using the service, you confirm that you are of legal age and have the authority to enter into a binding agreement.
To access the full features of Lesson Elf, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Lesson Elf operates a freemium model:
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected). All prices are shown inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no pro-rated refunds are issued for the remainder of a paid period unless required by applicable law.
We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
You agree to use Lesson Elf only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with its intended use as a professional teaching tool. You must not:

All lesson content generated through the Lesson Elf platform — including but not limited to lesson plans, vocabulary definitions, example sentences, concept check questions, dialogue scripts, discussion scenarios, activities, games, and associated images — is generated using Lesson Elf's proprietary prompting methodology and infrastructure. Such content is owned by or exclusively licensed to Lesson Elf.
By using the service, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use generated lessons solely for your own English language teaching purposes (including use directly with your students during lessons). This licence does not permit you to:
By using the service, you grant Lesson Elf a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, and commercially exploit anonymised lesson inputs (such as topics, vocabulary lists, and learning parameters) and generated lesson content for the purposes of:
We will always anonymise any such usage — we will never identify you or your students by name in connection with content we repurpose.
Lesson Elf uses third-party AI services to generate lesson content and audio:
The content of your lesson generation requests (topics, vocabulary, etc.) may be transmitted to these services to generate your lesson. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is processed.
We do not guarantee specific output from these AI services. Generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unsuitable — always review lessons before use with students.
Lesson Elf is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will always be accurate, appropriate, or fit for any particular purpose.
You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated lesson content before using it with students.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lesson Elf shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
